Iceland - an European outpost before 875?

Iceland review reports of archaeological excavations at Hafnir on the Reykjanes peninsula, where a cabin has been found which dates probably before the historical date of first Icelandic settlers in 875. Researchers guess that settlement at Iceland startet with an outpost to utilize the resources in Iceland as birds, eggs, fish, whales and walrus teeth, habited only part of the year into permanent settlement.
If this interpretation is true (the radiocarbon dates offer some probability, that the cabin was later than 875), another historical myth is unmasked.
